The MV Playhouse Presents "Uncle Chris" A New Play by Allison Snyder and Christopher Hemphill
Allison Snyder
Sometime between 1982 and 2022, in a building between Lexington and Park, a brother and a sister find themselves living together once again. Adapted from the letters and diaries of ghost writer Christopher Hemphill, Allison Snyder tells her uncle’s story in this zany and tender comedy about a family desperate to stay together whilst also staying apart.

MV Film Society: Doc Week
In recognition of the rising importance of documentaries to public dialogue, the M.V. Film Society is proud to announce its eleventh annual Documentary Week from July 28th to August 1st.
Documentary films have become the conscience of the nation, providing a deeper study of contemporary, and often unnoticed, social issues. By using the unique medium of film, Documentarians are able to cultivate a more compelling and fruitful discussion by mixing strongly-driven narratives with vivid imagery.
The MV Playhouse Presents “Chilmark” Written & Directed by Catherine Rush
In nineteenth-century Chilmark, deafness was not a disability. Some people could hear, others could not. And everyone learned sign language as a matter of course. This is the second production of a compelling drama that premiered at MV Playhouse in 2018 about a remarkable community.
Based on historical events.

At the Museum’s Adele H. Waggaman Community Gallery, this exhibition explores the work of photographer and writer Austin Bryant, who focuses on the connections between African American and Wampanoag communities on the Island over the past several hundred years.
